Occupational Therapy Assistant students at CKTC help with Special Olympics

Occupational Therapy Assistant students at Caddo Kiowa Technology Center helped at the Special Olympics this month. This is one of many activities in which students participate during their training.

Occupational Therapy Assistant students on the back row are Hailey Parker (Enid), Madison Malcolm (Stillwater), Makenzie Lovett (Chattanooga), Christina Meyer (Enid), Bryanna Smith (Weatherford), Madeline Jacobi (Sterling) and LaTara Blankenship (Watonga).

The Associate in Applied Science degree with Occupational Therapy Assistant Specialization is offered through Southwestern Oklahoma State University, Weatherford campus. General Education and Technical Support courses for the program are conducted at SWOSU at Weatherford or Sayre. The OTA Specialty courses are held on the campus at Caddo Kiowa Technology Center in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma.

The total number of graduates from the CKTC/SWOSU Occupational Therapy Assistant Program during a 3-year period of 2016 – 2018 was 39 with an overall graduation rate of 87.5%.

Anyone interested in the program is encouraged to attend the OTA Open House on February 26 from 6 to 8 pm or on March 11 from 10 am to 1 pm at Caddo Kiowa Tech Center in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma.
