OTA students experience the thrill of changing the lives of patients while working with professional occupational therapists. Students learn to work with clients ranging from newborns to senior citizens.

The OTA program curriculum is based on adult learning theory and collaborative learning integrating classroom experiences and clinical application. Students are given a foundation of a theoretical understanding of the occupational therapy process. OTA program graduates receive an Associates in Applied Science.

Only Adult students can apply. Enrollment is limited to 16 students.

A felony conviction may affect a graduate’s ability to sit for the NBCOT certification examination or attain state licensure. The National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) offers an “early determination” review to individuals with a felony background who are considering entering an educational program. For further information call 301-990-7979 or visit their website at NBCOT.
